My Starbucks Idea

LogoJust found that Starbucks have been mining consumers' brain for their next big ideas! My Starbucks Idea is an easy to navigate website where you can share your idea, vote for your favorite ones and... to see the progress of how these ideas get implemented in "Idea in Action" blog. Great way to implement transparency through brand innovation process.

Free lecture in Biomimicry in Design

If you're in LA next week!

Furniture, product and interior designer Ilan Dei's A.N.T. Gallery (that's Art, Nature, Technology) is going to start holding forum events. The L.A.-based gallery is kicking it off with one we're dying to attend--"Biomimicry and Structural Design: Innovation Inspired by Nature," where boatbuilder and oceanography professor Mike Leneman reveals the nature-based inspirations for his multi-hull boats.

The event is on May 7th. There will be booze and music, and A.N.T. is charging our favorite price: $0. The website's not been updated yet, so details are below.

Moto restaurant in Chicago

MotoOur friend Nathan recommended this restaurant, Moto in Chicago. Just by looking at their website, we knew we couldn't complete our day of Chicago without dining there.

Turned out it was more than dining... it was a true experience threaded through unique location in the middle of Chicago district (we didn't know if we were at the right place), impeccable customer service, beautiful (and interesting) food presentation to the unexpected fusion flavor which ended with next day follow up thank you e-mail with one of their recipe. (Donut pancake).

Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Chicago!

Attention to detail

Img_0328While we work in Milwaukee, we are lucky enough to commute through the building designed by Santiago Calatrava at Milwaukee Art Museum. Quadracci Pavilion is beautiful from many directions... but this is my favorite. You see how the roof line matches with the lake's horizon and the pattern on the roof almost looks like the ripples on the water? Three words... Attention to detail...

Visual Saturation

Some cool visual saturation we came across over the weekend. Some from Milwaukee Art Museum, some from MIAD graduation show, and others from touring Chicago.

Peru: Pulpo

For our friends' wedding, we stayed in Pulpo (30km south of Lima) beach front house.
sunset on the beach. Haven't quite seen color like this before.

Multi-level layered beach house. The one in blue is where we were staying. Every morning we saw a gardener of each house raking the beach in front of them.

the boo dog

Boodog BoobagShopping at farmer's market does not quite feel completed without personality full of reusable bags and basket. Our new favorite reusable bag from theboodog.com (designed by Betty Kim). We got their dual handle canvas bag. It has some depth so it's easy to put a pack of strawberry flat on the bottom...and it definitely stands out and differentiates us from all other shoppers who are carrying WholeFoods reusable bag. Eco with style:)
